IDP Resettlement and Support

o Safe and Sustainable Resettlement:

  • Coordinate with security agencies to ensure that areas targeted for resettlement are safe and stable for the return of IDPs.
  • Assess and prepare rural villages for the influx of returnees by improving infrastructure and ensuring adequate resources are available.

o Comprehensive Resettlement Services:

  • Collaborate with local and international humanitarian organizations to provide essential services such as temporary housing, healthcare, and educational facilities.
  • Organize health and psychological support services to assist IDPs in overcoming the traumas associated with displacement.

o Community-Based Support Systems:

  • Establish community centers that serve as hubs for integration activities, offering language and cultural assimilation classes to help IDPs reconnect with their heritage and community norms.
  • Facilitate dialogues between returning IDPs and long-term residents to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.

o Livelihood Programs:

  • Design and implement vocational training programs tailored to the local market needs and the skills of the IDPs, enhancing their employment prospects.
  • Create microenterprise development programs that provide seed funding, business training, and ongoing support to help IDPs start and sustain their own businesses.
